...Two Rounds of Freezing Rain to Affect Much of Iowa...

.A winter storm will produce two rounds of freezing rain today
through Tuesday. The first round is occurring over the northwest
half of Iowa this morning and into the early afternoon. The
second round will occur from tonight into Tuesday morning. Ice
accumulations will make travel very hazardous at times. Some areas
of tree damage and power outages are possible, especially with
the second round of icing. Anyone with travel plans should closely
monitor forecast updates and road conditions.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS
EVENING TO NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations of one
  tenth to one quarter of an inch are expected.

* WHERE...Much of central Iowa along and east of a line from
  Allison through Ames to Atlantic.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to noon CST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The ice will result in difficult travel
  conditions, including during the morning commute Tuesday. In
  addition to the dangerous travel conditions, gusty north winds
  may cause ice coated trees and powerlines to break and
  possibly fall, leading to the potential for power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads.
Slow down and use caution while driving. The latest road
