This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 16 - January 18 2019 - At 16 Feet, the river in Great Falls starts to come onto River Road. Ice jam was the cause.
- 15 - December 31 2019 - At 15 Feet, the river in Great Falls starts to come over its bank and flood the sidewalk along the river. Mainly between Central Avenue Bridge and the 9th Street Bridge. Ice jam was the cause.
