19 Record flooding never seen before will affect portions of Alpharetta near the creek. A catastrophic and massive flood will backup small streams and cover The Big Creek Greenway with up to 13 feet of water. Portions of Webb Bridge Road will be under 4 feet of water. The Rock Hill Park and most of the parking lot will be flooded with the water reaching the foundation of the restrooms. The water level reaches the bottom of the Kimball Bridge and Haynes Bridge roads and city officials may need to close them.
17 Record flooding never seen before will affect portions of Alpharetta along the creek. The Big Creek Greenway will be under 7 to 11 feet of water. Portions of Webb Bridge Road are under 1 to 2 feet of water. The foot bridge just downstream of Kimball Bridge Road will be under water. The Rock Hill Park will be flooded with the water covering the concrete pad of the octagon pavilion and half of the parking lot. The YMCA Campground and playground off Preston Ridge Road will be completely flooded.
15 Record flooding continues with widespread inundation along the creek. The Big Creek Greenway floods with 5 to 9 feet of water. Portions of Webb Bridge Road will begin to flood and county officals will likely close it. The foot bridge just downstream of Kimball Bridge Road will be flooded. Flooding expands in the Rock Hill Park with the water covering the concrete pad of the square pavilion and more of the parking lot. The YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road is flooded including a large storage shed.

The water reaches the bottom of the foot bridge just downstream of Kimball Bridge Road where the gage is located. A large portion of Rock Hill Park is flooded and the lower end of the parking lot is affected. The YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road is flooded and water enters a storage shed at the campground.
12 Moderate flooding continues to expand further into the woodlands along the creek. The Big Creek Greenway is closed and flooded with 2 to 6 feet of water. The water reaches the bottom of the foot bridge just downstream of Kimball Bridge Road where the gage is located. Flooding expands over portions of Rock Hill Park and the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road. The water level will reach the foundation of a storage shed at the campground.
11 Moderate flooding begins to expand further into the woodlands along the creek. The Big Creek Greenway is completely flooded with 1 to 5 feet of water. The water level approaches the bottom of the foot bridge just downstream of Kimball Bridge Road where the gage is located. Portions of the Rock Hill Park will be flooded. A large portion of the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be flooded.
10 Minor flooding continues upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road. The flood waters expand further into the woodlands along the creek...and begins to affect some residential yards between Cumming in Forsyth County through Alpharetta and Roswell in North Fulton County. The Big Creek Greenway is closed and completely flooded with up to 4 feet of water in some areas.
9 Minor flooding continues to expand further into the woodlands and fields along the creek from near Cumming in south Forsyth County to Alpharetta and Roswell in north Fulton County. The Big Creek Greenway experiences significant flooding...which results in closure of most of the walking and biking paths. This especially occurs upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Hill Park. A large portion of the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be flooded.
8 Minor flooding continues to expand further into the woodlands and fields along the creek from near Cumming in south Forsyth County to Alpharetta and Roswell in north Fulton County. Additional portions of The Big Creek Greenway have minor flooding with 1 to 2 feet of water. Most of the walking and biking paths will be closed...especially upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road and near Rock Hill Park. 7 Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding of woodlands and fields begin along the creek between Cumming in Forsyth County...to Alpharetta and Roswell in North Fulton County. Flooding starts to effect portions of The Big Creek Greenway near Alpharetta and some portions may become closed with around one foot of water...especially upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road and near Rock Hill Park. Portions of the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will begin to flood.

120-400 cfs Minimum flow for whitewater kayaking on the 2.6 mile stretch from Grimes Bridge Road to Vickery Creek Park.
55-120 cfs The paddling run from Big Creek (or Vickery Creek) at Oxbow Road to Azalea Drive on the Chattahoochee River is considered a class II-III run. A minimum flow of at least 55 cfs is recommended for paddling.
