17.5 FLOODING AT THIS LEVEL WILL BE SIMILAR TO THE FLOODING THAT OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2004 WITH HURRICANE FRANCES.
16 HOMES NEAR THE RIVER WILL BE FLOODED ESPECIALLY BETWEEN ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD AND THE RIVER. MORE EVACUATIONS OF FAMILIES MAY BE NEEDED.
15.5 HOMES BETWEEN THE RIVER AND WATERWAY DRIVE WILL BEGIN TO FLOOD. FLOODING AT THIS LEVEL WILL BE SIMILAR TO THE FLOODING THAT OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 8, 2005.
15 PRECAUTIONARY EVACUATIONS OF MOBILE HOMES AND OTHER HOMES WILL BEGIN UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM OF THE GAGE...ESPECIALLY OFF OF WEHELCHEL ROAD AND IN THE NUMBER 1 TOWNSHIP AREA. BACKWATER ON LOCAL CREEKS WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLOODING OF A BRIDGE ON NORTH LAFAYETTE STREET NORTH OF SHELBY NC.
14.5 THE RIVER UPSTREAM OF THE CLIFFSIDE AREA WILL OVERFLOW THE BANKS AND START TO FLOOD SOME ROADS.
14 MODERATE FLOOD STAGE. WATER WILL REACH THE STEPS OF MOBILE HOMES NEAR THE GAGE SITE. LOCAL CAMPGROUNDS NEAR THE RIVER WILL ALSO BE AFFECTED. FLOODING AT THIS LEVEL WILL BE SIMILAR TO FLOODING THAT OCCURRED ON JULY 8, 2005.
13.35 MINOR FLOODING OF HOMES BETWEEN THE RIVER AND ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD IS EXPECTED. FLOODING AT THIS LEVEL WILL BE SIMILAR TO THE FLOODING THAT OCCURRED ON JANUARY 25, 2010.
12 FLOOD STAGE. HOMES BETWEEN ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD AND THE RIVER WILL BEGIN TO FLOOD. SAND DREDGING EQUIPMENT ON BANKS OF RIVER WILL BEGIN TO FLOOD.
11.5 WATER WILL REACH THE FOUNDATIONS OF MOST OF THE HOMES NEAR THE RIVER OFF OF ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD.
10 SAND DREDGING OPERATIONS WILL BE SHUT DOWN. BARGES BETWEEN BOILING SPRINGS GAGE AND STATE LINE WILL NEED TO BE TIED UP OR MOVED. FURTHER FLOODING OF YARDS AROUND HOMES LOCATED OFF OF ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD WILL OCCURR.
8 THE RIVER WILL BE OUT OF THE BANKS AND SURROUNDING SOME HOMES DOWNSTREAM OF THE RIVER GAGE BETWEEN ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD AND THE RIVER. LEVEL AT WHICH THE SAND DREDGING OPERATIONS SHOULD TAKE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO SECURE THE SAND BARGES.
6.5 WATER WILL BEGIN TO FLOW INTO YARDS OF HOMES BETWEEN ABE'S MOUNTAIN ROAD AND THE RIVER.
2.2 BASIN AVERAGE RAINFALL AROUND 2.2 INCHS IN 12 HOUR RESULTED IN A 4 FT RISE HERE.
