FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON, TX

A river flood warning remains in effect for the Trinity River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede.

Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.

Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few
days.



Stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or other news sources for further updates.

 The Flood Warning continues for
  The Trinity River near Crockett
* until Saturday afternoon or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0701 PM Thursday the stage was 43.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 41.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Saturday
  morning.
* At 43.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding continues in the vicinity of the gage
  impacting ranching operations and prison farms. Livestock should be removed
  from low areas in the flood plain.

  the Neches River Near Neches, Texas.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:30 AM Thursday The stage was 14.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 13.8 feet
  by Friday morning.
* Impact...at 14.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding.  Move livestock and
  equipment to higher ground away from the river.

  the Neches River Near Alto, Texas.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:15 AM Thursday The stage was 18.7 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 18.3 feet
  by Friday morning.
* Impact...at 19.0 feet...Preparations should be completed for a
  moderate flood. Barns and farm buildings near the river will be
  threatened by high water. In addition, ranchers should have
  completed moving cattle and equipment to higher ground.

* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:15 AM Thursday The stage was 15.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 15.7 feet by this
  Thursday afternoon with then little change through Friday morning.
* Impact...Minor lowland flooding.
