The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 2 AM EDT
Sunday.

* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 20 knots with gusts 25 to 35 knots.

* TIMING...Tropical Storm Nestor will move into the area today,
  increasing winds. The strongest winds will be this afternoon
  and evening, diminishing by Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will
  create hazardous conditions for small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution should be used
when in or near the water.

If you become caught in a rip current, yell for help. Remain
calm, do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current, swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.
