.The Mississippi River continues to see receding levels, however
rain is expected through early next week which could cause a delay
in the recession, or possibly new rises over the next week. With the
amount of rain expected, while new rises are possible, significant
new rises are not likely. Stay tuned to later forecasts for any
changes in the expectations on the rivers.

River forecasts include past precipitation and forecast rainfall for
the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Mississippi River at Gregory Landing.
* Until further notice.
* At 10:30 AM Thursday the stage was 17.9 feet and steady.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity, recent rainfall caused the river to rise back
  above Moderate Flood Stage overnight. It has steadied and began
  falling again.
* Forecast, remain steady through Thursday, then begin to slowly
  fall.
* Impact, At  17.0 feet, Water affects the road north of the grain
  elevator in Gregory Landing.

  The Mississippi River at Keokuk LD19.
* Until Saturday.
* At 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 16.6 feet and steady.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Recent activity, recent rainfall caused the river to level off over
  the past 12 hours.
* Forecast, stay nearly steady today then slowly fall and drop below
  flood stage Saturday.
* Impact, At  16.0 feet, Water affects low lying buildings in rural
  areas. Water affects the railroad tracks in Alexandria.

* Until further notice.
* At  9:15 AM Thursday the stage was 18.8 feet and falling.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Recent activity, yesterday`s rain caused the river to rise up around
  one foot, but has since fallen back down to levels just above flood
  stage.
* Forecast, Stay nearly steady and then slowly fall to 18.2 feet
  next Thursday.
* Impact, At  18.0 feet, Flooding occurs over the lower river banks.
