...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT SUNDAY FOR
ROCK...BROWN...HOLT...KEYA PAHA AND BOYD COUNTIES...

Flooding continues across the warned area with agricultural and
travel impacts. Numerous roads are underwater across the warned
area. Rural areas have especially been impacted by the flooding with
numerous culverts and bridges washed out. Area rivers and streams,
including the Elkhorn River, are bankfull or have spilled out of
their banks. The flooding is a result from significant rainfall
earlier this week.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
O`neill, Ainsworth, Bassett, Spencer, Springview, O`Neill, Atkinson,
Stuart, Ewing, Butte, Long Pine, Chambers, Lynch, Page, Newport,
Naper, Johnstown, Gross, Rose and Amelia.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 183 between mile markers 149 and 225.
 Highway 20 between mile markers 225 and 328.
 Highway 281 between mile markers 158 and 223.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 23 and 135.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Nebraska...
  Elkhorn River affecting Holt County.

.Flooding will continue along the Elkhorn River through much of Holt
county. Widespread flooding of agricultural and pasture land along
the river can be expected. Some roads near the river will be
underwater.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely
and the road beneath may not be intact. Vehicles caught in rising
waters should be abandoned quickly.

Do not let children play near the river during high water.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Elkhorn River in Holt County.
* until Tuesday afternoon.
* At  6:45 PM Saturday the stage was 9.1 feet at Ewing.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 9.5 feet by
  tomorrow afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage Monday
  early afternoon.
* Impact...At 9.5 feet...Minor flooding should be anticipated along
  and near the Elkhorn River. Residents of Ewing should take
  precautions to protect property and livestock.

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
  Eastern Cherry County in north central Nebraska...

* Until 400 PM CDT Sunday/300 PM MDT Sunday/.

* Emergency management reported minor flooding continues to impact
  portions of central and eastern Cherry County. Flooding is a
  result of runoff from recent rainfall.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Brownlee, Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, Merritt Reservoir,
  Elsmere, Wood Lake, Highway 97 crossing the North Loup River,
  Sparks, Highway 83 crossing the North Loup River, Marsh Flat, Smith
  Falls State Park, Schlagel Creek State Wildlife Management Area,
  Giant Hill, Highway 97 crossing Big Creek, Big Alkali Lake State
  Wildlife Management Area and Highway 83 crossing Goose Creek.
