.Scattered showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Mid-South
this afternoon. Coverage of showers and thunderstorms will increase
and rainfall will intensify near southward-moving cold front this
evening, increasing the threat of flooding. .

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of East Arkansas...North Mississippi and West Tennessee,
  including the following areas, in East Arkansas, Crittenden,
  Cross, Lee AR, Phillips and St. Francis. In North Mississippi,
  Alcorn, Benton MS, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola,
  Prentiss, Quitman, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica and Union. In
  West Tennessee, Benton TN, Carroll, Chester, Decatur, Fayette,
  Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, McNairy, Shelby and
  Tipton.

* Through late tonight

* Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall onto saturated soils may
  cause flooding.

* Low-lying areas may flood, creeks and streams may overflow their
  banks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert
for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
