* Impact...at 28.0 feet...The Water Treatment Plant road floods.

  North Fork Elkhorn River Near Pierce affecting Pierce County.

.Heavy rain falling today will cause the North Fork of the Elkhorn
River to rise substantially the next few days. Because this forecast
is highly depedent on forecasted rainfall, there is lower than usual
confidence in how high the river will get. As reports come in
regarding actual rainfall amount and intensity this forecast will be
revised and refined.

  flood stage.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Record flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by tomorrow evening and continue
  to rise to near 15.1 feet by early Friday afternoon. The river will
  fall below flood stage by late Saturday morning.
* Impact...at 15.0 feet...Flood waters rise up against the federal
  levee protecting Pierce. Sandbagging and other protective
  operations are started.

  additional 1 to 2 inches of rain in spots could lead to flash
  flooding.
