National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 6.5 - Homes and businesses will be flooded along Front St as well as all adjacent roads in downtown Beaufort. The west-end of Beaufort including Ann St and Sunset Ln, homes and docks will flood. Also, the western end of the runway at Michael J. Smith Airport will begin to flood. Widespread flooding expected in downtown Morehead City for areas adjacent to Bogue Sound.
- 5.5 - Front St in Beaufort will flood and impact businesses between Queen and Moore St. Other roads adjacent to Front St will begin to flood including Live Oak to Gordon St, and the west-end of Front St. The east-end of Front St near Island View Drive and Lewistown Rd will also flood. Shepard St between 9th and 14th St in Morehead City will become impassable. Homes adjacent to the Bogue Sound in Morehead City will begin to flood the edge of their properties.
- 5 - Shepard Street and Evans Street in downtown Morehead City will begin to flood. Also, the west end of Front Street in downtown Beaufort will begin to flood.
