National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 180 - Travel to homes in the lake very difficult by only using boat. Near record flooding of the Cypress Village, Caddo Lake State Park, and Uncertain, Texas as well as on the Louisiana side of the lake through Mooringsport. Expect near record backwater flooding of homes up through James Bayou. Major flooding also develops between levee systems below Caddo Lake on Twelve Mile Bayou.
- 178 - Near record flooding of several hundred homes including several stilted homes. Homeowners should be prepared for severe flooding.
- 175 - Homeowners should rush preparations to completion for significant flooding problems. Nearly all homes that are not stilted face flooding. Boats should be moved from boathouses and into open water to prevent them from rising through the boathouse roof. Also expect flooded access roadways in Cypress Village and Caddo Lake State Park. Backwater flooding will increase through James Bayou as well on the north side of the lake.
