National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 15 - Moderate to Severe flooding has historically occurred in Montoursville Borough and the remainder of the Lower Loyalsock Creek.
- 13.5 - Between 13.0 and 14.0 feet Borough officials have historically been notified about the liklihood of flooding at Mill Street and Superior Plus.
- 13 - Caution Stage. Lycoming County Emergency Management has historically used this stage as the benchmark elevation for flooding to begin across the watershed.
