National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 5 - 5.0 ft MHHW plus - Shell Belt and Coden Belt Rds closed. Some homes on the north side of Shell Belt and Coden Belt Rds experience several feet of water in the structures.
- 4 - 4.0 to 5.0 ft MHHW - Water begins to encroach into yards and under the elevated homes on the north side of Shell Belt Rd, with up to 3 ft of water. Shell Belt and Coden Belt Rds closed. Water begins to cover portions of Heron Bay Loop Rd along Heron Bay and may limit travel here. A few businesses on the waterfront in Bayou La Batre can have up to 6 in of water in them.
- 3 - 3.0 - 4.0 ft MHHW - Minor flooding on portions of Fort Morgan Road begins at 3.18 feet, especially areas between milemarkers 4 and 6. Minor beach erosion occurs on Baldwin County beaches, with no significant flooding on normally dry ground.
