National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 39 - This will equal the previous flood of record. Many residents and businesses in Brookville will be completely inundated by water. Major flooding is widespread along the river from Stavetown, Indiana to Harrison, Ohio. Many roads, including Route 52, will be closed forcing residences and businesses to be evacuated.
- 36 - Numerous evacuations within the flood plain will be necessary. Great destruction occurs to any development within the flood plain, including county roads, bridges and much of Route 52, as well as many of the homes in southern Brookville.
- 30 - The flood waters will cause significant damage within the floodplain, with numerous homes and businesses affected. Low areas of New Trenton, Stavetown, West Harrison, Indiana, and Harrison, Ohio are most impacted. Portions of Route 52 and low-lying secondary roads become flooded in areas. Much of the south side of Brookville is flooded.
