Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 11 - Major flooding begins. Widespread inundation flooding of the woodlands occur upstream and downstream from the gage at Helmer Road. Portions of the road will be flooded with a foot of water. The water level will reach the top of the bridge and it may become washed out. In Clayton County...several homes on Wicker Court...Bayridge Drive...Timberlake Drive and Timberlake Court will begin to flood. The flood waters may be up to a foot deep in some of the homes.
- 10 - Significant flooding expands into the woodlands along the creek from the gage at Helmer Road. Low portions of the road will begin to flood. The water level will be hitting the bridge and County officials will close it. In Clayton County...large portions of the backyards of homes on Wicker Court...Bayridge Drive...Timberlake Drive and Timberlake Court will be under 3 feet of water. The flood waters will reach the foundations of some of the homes.
- 9 - Significant flooding continues in the woodlands along the creek upstream and downstream from the gage at Helmer Road. The water level will be approaching the road and hitting the bottom of the bridge. County officials will likely close it. In Clayton County...large portions of the backyards of homes on Wicker Court...Bayridge Drive...Timberlake Drive and Timberlake Court will be under two feet of water. The flood waters will approach the foundations of the homes.
