National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 20 - Over half of the town of confluence would be affected by flood waters prior to the construction of the flood control structures.
- 18 - Flood waters cover Route 281 just downstream of the bridge over the Youghiogheny.
- 16 - Significant flooding is expected on the Youghiogheny River in the vicintiy of confluence. Areas adjacent to the river which are not protected by flood control structures are inundated.
