National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 12 - (3.7 meters), Major flooding is very dangerous for livestock in the flood plain. Recreationists downstream on the Devils River near Paffords Crossing to Lake Amistad should move away from the flood plain.
- 8 - (2.4 meters), Moderate lowland flooding cuts off and potentially drowns livestock in low areas of the flood plain. Torrential flow can wash campers, autos and gear downstream near and below Paffords Crossing.
- 5 - (1.5 meters), Minor lowland flooding extends into low areas of the flood plain with little impact.
