National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 20 - Major flooding begins. Extensive flooding occurs in the woodlands upstream and downstream from the gage on Bill Arp Road or Georgia Highway 5. Flood waters will completely cover an environmental monitoring station by the bridge and be around 5 feet deep. Several small lakes and ponds upstream from the gage will likely overflow or be flooded by the river. Mobley Creek which flows into the river just upstream from the gage will likely be two feet deep over a portion of Banks Mill Road.
- 18 - Significant flooding expands further into the woodlands upstream and downstream from the gage on Bill Arp Road or Georgia Highway 5. Flood waters will completely cover a circuit breaker box and power meter for an environmental monitoring station by the bridge. The flood waters will surround the station around 3 feet deep. Mobley Creek which flows into the river just upstream from the gage will begin to flood a portion of Banks Mill Road.
- 17 - Significant flooding continues in the woodlands upstream and downstream from the gage on Bill Arp Road or Georgia Highway 5. The water level reaches the bottom of a power meter for an environmental monitoring station by the bridge. The flood waters will surround the station around two feet deep. Mobley Creek which flows into the river just upstream from the gage will reach the top of the curvert on Banks Mill Road.
