This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 22 - Highway 5 and most rural county roads across eastern Nuckolls and western Thayer counties that cross the Little Blue River will be covered by flood water.
- 21 - Flood water will cover the Thayer/Nuckolls county line road north of the river, Highway 5, and many other rural roads that cross the Little Blue River.
- 19 - Flood water will completely cover Highway 5 south of the bridge and also cover several county roads including county road 5100.
- 18.3 - Flood water will cover Highway 5 south of the bridge.
- 18 - Highway 5 will begin to have water across part of the Highway south of the bridge. In addition, flooding of low land agricultural fields and pastures will become widespread.
- 17.5 - The river will begin to spill into low spots of adjacent fields near the gauge site.
- 16 - The river will begin to spill out of its banks into area fields 3 to 4 miles downstream of the gauge site.
