National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 31 - Widespread inundation flooding never seen before occurs generally east of Canton near the Interstate 575 bridge. Flood waters will be up to 6 feet deep in all of the businesses on Old Ball Ground Highway and Keith Drive. Flooding will occur on Riverstone Parkway between the Interstate and Riverstone Boulevard. Flood waters will enter the USGS gage house and will likely cause a data transmission loss.
- 29 - Major flooding continues with widespread inundation occurring generally east of Canton near the Interstate 575 bridge. Flood waters will reach the foundation of a Cherokee County sewage pump station off of Riverstone Parkway and some businesses on Old Ball Ground Highway and Keith Drive will be flooded with up to 4 feet of water. Flood waters will be up to 8 feet deep around the wooden structure supporting the USGS gage house behind the pump station.
- 27 - Major flooding begins. Widespread inundation flooding occurs generally east of Canton near the Interstate 575 bridge. A sewer cover behind a pump station off of Riverstone Parkway and some businesses on Old Ball Ground Highway and Keith Drive will be flooded with up to 3 feet of water. Flood waters will be up to 6 feet deep around the wooden structure supporting the USGS gage house behind the pump station.
