National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 18 - Major Flood Stage. Extremely rare and catastrophic flooding of the Reedy River is developing within the city of Greenville with disastrous impacts to property. Extraordinary flooding exceeding 6 ft deep is overwhelming low-lying areas including the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Unity Park. Floodwaters are likely impacting businesses upstream and downstream of Unity Park. Significant roadway flooding may be imminent or ongoing near Hampton Ave, Willard St, W Washington St, Hudson St, and Westfield St.
- 14 - Moderate Flood Stage. Hudson St is likely inundated with 12-18 inches of floodwaters. Expansive flooding of Unity Park is ongoing with more significant inundation of the Swamp Rabbit Trail from Unity Park downstream to Cleveland Park. Significant inundation over 1-3 feet deep is likely beginning for low-lying areas, including the Swamp Rabbit Trail, from Westfield St to River St. Flooding along the Reedy River near the Peace Center and Japanese Dogwood Ln is underway.
- 12 - Minor Flooding continues. Extensive flooding of Unity Park is ongoing, with floodwaters 1-3 feet deep. Increasing inundation of low-lying areas adjacent to and including the Swamp Rabbit Trail is ongoing. Trail inundation of less than 6 inches deep is ongoing between Westfield St and Hudson St. Floodwaters are about 6-12 inches below the Hudson St bridge. Cleveland Park flooding is likely during heavy rain along Richland Creek including along Lakehurst St.
