National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 7.5 - Moderate coastal flooding occurs in locations in Dartmouth, New Bedford, Fairhaven and Wareham outside of protection from the Hurricane Barrier. Various roads are affected, including Smith Neck Road and the Padanaram Bridge in Dartmouth, and French Street in New Bedford.
- 6.5 - Minor coastal flooding and splashover occurs in vulnerable sections of Dartmouth, Fairhaven, New Bedford and Wareham that are outside of protection of the Hurricane Barrier. Vulnerable locations include Smith Neck Road and the Padanaram Bridge in Dartmouth, and French Street in New Bedford.
