  • 10 - Water level reaches top of the bridge deck on North Main St. Bridge that crosses the Nansemond River.
  • 8.5 - Water enters lower end of Super 8 Hotel parking lot
  • 7.5 - Water enters buildings along North Main St north of the gage.
  • 7 - Water level exceeds height of bulk head at marina at Constants Wharf
  • 6.5 - Water enters North Main St, on the north side of the river, 200 ft north of the tidal gage.
  • 5.5 - Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Water begins to flood N Main St near the gage due to water backing up through drains.
