National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 6.8 - Near Record flood with serious damage from Pleasant Valley to Vista, including the communities of Steamboat, Damonte Ranch, Mira Loma, Hidden Valley and the UNR agricultural farm. Livestock at the farm will need to be evacuated to higher ground. Impacts in Hidden Valley and UNR farm dependent on Truckee River level and backwater contribution. Similar level to 12/31/2005 and 2/17/1986 floods.
- 6 - Major flooding with significant damage from Pleasant Valley to Vista, including communities of Steamboat, Damonte Ranch, Mira Loma, Hidden Valley and the UNR agricultural farm. Livestock at the farm may need to be evacuated to higher ground. Impacts in Hidden Valley and UNR farm dependent on Truckee River level and backwater contribution. Similar to January 1997 level.
- 4.8 - Moderate flooding with some flood damage from Pleasant Valley to Vista, including the communities of Steamboat, Damonte Ranch, Mira Loma, Hidden Valley and the UNR agricultural farm. Multiple road closures likely. Impacts in Hidden Valley and UNR farm area dependent on Truckee River level and backwater contribution. Slightly exceeding the February 10, 2017 crest.
