This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 24 - This flood is expected to be comparable to the flooding experienced during Irene in August 2011. Floodwaters inundate or isolate many homes, farms and other strucutres in the greater vicinity of the Deerfield River. Large stretches of Route 5 and other secondary roads are flooded out. Floodwaters inundate some buildings on Deerfield Academy and many surrounding recreational fields and parking lots. Heed the advice of local officials, and evacuate if asked to do so.
- 22 - Floodwaters inundate or isolate many homes, farms and other structures in the vicinity of the river. Roads with large stretches of inundation include Pogues Hole Rd, Round Pond Rd, Little Meadow Rd, Broughams Pond Rd, Mill Village Rd and Stillwater Rd. Flooding also occurs along portions of Route 5, Lower Road, Wells Cross Rd, Old Ferry Rd, Childs Cross Rd, Albany Rd West and Boyden Lane. Flooding occurs in some buildings near Deerfield Academy and in many surrounding recreational fields and parking lots.
- 20.5 - Floodwaters inundate or isolate many homes, farms and other structures in the greater vicinity of the Deerfield River. Roads with large stretches of inundation include Pogues Hole Rd, Round Pond Rd, Little Meadow Rd, Broughams Pond Rd, Mill Village Rd and Stillwater Rd.
