15 Significant flooding continues to expand further into the woodlands upstream and downstream from the river gage at New Hope Road. The bridge forms an obstacle and acts like a dam causing some backwater and erosion eddies to the sides of the bridge. The flood water will be around one foot deep over the road and county officials will have the bridge closed. The high water will likely affect the performance of the USGS gaging equipment near the bridge.
