28 Devastating flooding of all areas along Contentnea Creek in Greene and Lenoir counnties. The communities of Grifton and Tick Bite are mostly underwater. Numerous residences completely submerged. The Green Street bridge in Snow Hill is flooded. Many homes on the north side of the creek from Hookerton to the Wilson County line are severely inundated. All roads in and around the creek are impassable. This is comparable to the flood after Hurricane Floyd.
26 Disastrous flooding for the areas around Grifton and Tick Bite. In Grifton, nearly all homes between Queen Street and the creek are flooded. Flooding south of the creek in Lenoir County, and northwest Greene County is dire. Many residences entirely underwater. HWY 123, in Hookerton, floods as well as HWY 11 north of Grifton. In Snow Hill, homes are inundated along Beaman Old Creek Road, and along HWY 91 near Greene Central High. Most roads north of the creek are underwater with numerous homes flooded.
24 Numerous homes and roads on the north side of the creek are inundated especially along Four Way Road and Ormondsville Road. In Snow Hill, properties along Mill Street are flooded. Homes along Beaman Old Creek Road are inundated, and water surrounds homes on NC 91 near Greene Central High. In Grifton, HWY 118 is likely impassable east of the bridge, and flood waters inundate roads and properties up to Main Street. Many homes in Tick Bite and in parts of northwest Greene County near HWY 58 are inundated.
20 Low areas on the south side of Snow Hill are inundated. Several homes on the north side of the creek from Snow Hill to Hookerton are flooded. Water rises up to the HWY 118 bridge in Grifton. Widespread flooding of properties in Grifton, Tick Bite, and near HWY 58 in northwest Greene County. A few residences may be inundated.
18 Water floods some homes along Water Street in Grifton, as well as some businesses just to the east of the bridge on HWY 118. Water surrounds homes in Tick Bite. HWY 123 just north of the bridge in Hookerton floods. Water threatens homes on Loop Road and Four Way Road between Snow Hill and Hookerton, as well as further upstream in northwest Greene County.
16 Water may threaten several homes in Tick Bite. In Grifton, minor flooding is likely along Water Street and Creekshore Drive. Water threatens properties on Loop Road north of Hookerton. In northwest Greene County, water surrounds several homes, and HWY 58 is likely impassable heading into Wilson County.
13 Minor flooding of low lying areas adjacent to creek can be expected. Several homes threatened by water in northwest Greene County near HWY 58.
