Long-term Hydrograph

CHENA RIVER DOWNTOWN
The US Army Corps of Engineers Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project upstream of Fairbanks regulates flows through downstream Fairbanks to a level not to exceed 12,000 cfs. Unregulated Little Chena River flows can result in flows higher than 12,000 cfs in downtown Fairbanks even with the Chena Project diverting 100% of the Chena River flows at the flood control project to the Tanana River. Low lying areas downstream from the project may experience minor flooding during a normal flood control operation. More information about the Chena Lakes Flood Control project can be found at: http://http://www.poa.usace.army.mil/Locations/ChenaProject.aspx
