This flood is expected to be comparable to the flooding experienced during Irene in August 2011. Floodwaters inundate or isolate many homes, farms and other strucutres in the greater vicinity of the Deerfield River. Large stretches of Route 5 and other secondary roads are flooded out. Floodwaters inundate some buildings on Deerfield Academy and many surrounding recreational fields and parking lots. Heed the advice of local officials, and evacuate if asked to do so.
